Inventory Planner – Huws Gray Group – Permanent – Office-based, Llangefni

The Inventory Planner plays a key role in improving stock efficiency across the Huws Gray Group. The role is responsible for analysing system‑generated exception reports, investigating stock discrepancies and ensuring issues are resolved accurately and promptly. Working closely with branches across a defined geographic area, the Inventory Planner provides support on stock accuracy, system queries and process compliance, helping to maintain strong stock control and drive operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do:
Exception Management
- Review daily exception reports, including negative stock, unusual movements and high adjustments.
- Investigate discrepancies and partner with branches to resolve issues efficiently.
- Escalate recurring or high‑risk exceptions to the Team Leader.
Branch Support & Guidance
- Provide practical support on stock processes, system use and best practice.
- Work alongside branches to correct errors and improve stock accuracy.
- Advise on effective receiving, issuing and stock movement controls.
Stock Accuracy & Compliance
- Monitor stock integrity across product categories and highlight potential risks.
- Support stock take preparation, investigation and follow‑up actions.
- Promote adherence to stock control procedures and system discipline.
Insight & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain clear records of exceptions, actions and outcomes.
- Produce simple reporting on trends, recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to training, process enhancements and system improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring:

A collaborative approach to branch support, combined with a commitment to process discipline, helps ensure consistent and effective stock control across the business.
Essential
- Experience working in stock control, inventory planning or warehouse operations.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with branches.
- The ability to work independently, manage priorities and balance competing demands.
Desirable
- Experience within a builders’ merchant or similar operational environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and stock management tools.
